The European Club Championship, organized by the European Golf Association (EGA), was held from 23 to 25 October 2025 in Cabot Bordeaux, France, in its 50th jubilee edition.

As this year’s team winner of the Croatian Golf League, Golf & Country Club Zagreb (GLKZ) represented Croatia at this prestigious European competition. The team was represented by Leo Zurovac, Felix Schrott and Luka Strašek, with Marko Stepinac as captain.

On the first day of the competition, the game was marked by extremely difficult weather conditions — strong winds and storm Benjamin with gusts of up to 100 km/h, as well as heavy rain, which caused the start to be delayed by three hours and interrupted several times. Despite this, GLKZ opened the championship with a score of +14, which placed them in 18th place after the first day.

On the second day, the team recovered brilliantly with a score of –3, and on the third day, they made further progress with a score of –2, which pushed them into a shared 8th place in the overall standings.
This is the first time in history that a Croatian representative has finished among the top ten at the European Club Championship.

The victory went to Smørum Golfklub from Denmark with a total score of -12. Among the members of the winning team was Claes Thrane Borregaard, who represented Europe at the St. Andrews Trophy earlier this year. Borregaard shot an outstanding -7 on the first day, with eight birdies and one eagle, laying the foundation for the Danish victory in extremely challenging playing conditions.
